A nerd who can throw a football.
"If you focus on what's best for people, the profit will come."
Steven Day is a lifelong software developer with a rarer second talent: he's a people person. He's as comfortable in the executive boardroom as he is in the basement with the developers or the corner office with the creatives — and people tend to trust him fast. That bilingual fluency, business on one side and engineering on the other, is the whole point of DayLight.
His gift is translating business problems into technology that solves them: finding the clever, clear path from "here's what hurts" to "here's what we built." He works from a simple belief that anything is possible given time and money. With AI, both keep shrinking.
A tool is only as good as the person using it. And technology should serve people, not surveil or extract from them.
People over profit decides how the work actually gets structured at DayLight. The conviction is simple: businesses that genuinely create value for the people they serve end up flourishing, because trust compounds. So we build technology that earns trust by being clear, private, and on the customer's side, and let the rest follow.
Steven builds and runs DayLight from Tyler, Texas, where he works with clients and on his own ventures. The goal has never been the biggest company. It's a business that serves a good life, with freedom and family at the center, using AI as the force multiplier that makes it possible.
